Bio of Jake Simpson

Who I am : I'm Jake :) Actually, I'm Jacob, but only my mother uses that name, and only when she's pissed at me.

Age: 38

Proportions: I'm 6ft, 230 pounds, clean shaven (most of the time) with brown eyes and No hair! Yay. I decided to shave it all off.

Marital Status: Married - to Cathy, who is the light of my life. For almost 16 years now.

Location: Mesa Arizona. I'm originally from Herne Bay, near Canterbury in Kent, England. I come complete with accent too. I've been in the states for over 16 years now.

Occupation: I work for Linden Lab on Second Life. Before that I was a tools lead working for Cheyenne Mountain Entertainment making a Stargate SG1 based MMO- and before that I worked for EA/Maxis (Sims, SimCity etc). I was at Raven for 3.5 years and before that I spent 6 years at Midway games making arcade games.

Education: Degree in Computer Science from Hatfield Poly in Hatfield, Hertfordshire back in Blighty.

Favorite Beers : At last, the important stuff. Stella Artois would be top of the list. Not that I can get it here in the states, but I do stock up everytime I get home. Also, I can recommend Blue Moon, Lineys Red, Bass Ale, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, and of course, Boddingtons Pub ale (which is Boddingtons Gold back home). Great stuff. I don't drink liquors or spirits anymore, I just don't feel the need. I do love a glass of a good Merlot though. And Port after a good meal is a must:)

Family: I have three brothers (I used to have four, but one died a couple of years back) and a sister, all living in England. My mom is still alive and kicking back in the town I came from, and she's the only reason I go back.

Hero's: I have lots of those. Lenoard Nimoy, Patrick Stuart, Tom Baker, Mike Abrash, Orson Scott Card, Jeff Minter, James Garner, Harry Harrison, Jean-Michel Jarre, Phil Collins, Richard Branson, John Cusack (he just seems so real in all his roles for some reason).

Hobbies. Lots of these too:) I love to play games, read alot, code stuff up for the sake of it, sky dive(when I can afford it), fly planes(again, when I can afford it), Martial Arts (I have a second degree black in Aikidi, and a first in Ju-Jitsu), ski, watch ALOT of movies, technology - anything that plugs in is cool with me -, I collect old computers and consoles, music, drinking lots of beer, building PC's for people, travelling around the world and other stuff I can't put in a family oriented site like this. Use your imagination:)

Music I'm into: Mostly electronicy type stuff. My all time fav musician is a french guy *gasp* - Jean Michel Jarre. I love his stuff, since it's great to code to, with no lyrics. I'm also very into Genesis, Phil Collins, The Pet Shop Boys, Erasure, Garbage, Robert Miles, Human Leauge, Mike Oldfield, Orbital, Adam and the Ants (thought I'd sneak that one in there), Peter Gabriel, New Order, Fleetwood Mac, Squeeze and so on.

Stuff I'm into big time: Star Trek -TNG. Captain Picard is almost everything I would want to be. Dr.Who. I learnt so much from watching that show, it will always be the best Sci-Fi for me. And the Daleks. They are just waaaay too cool. You can actually buy one now for about $2000. I will have one, even though the wife is dead set against it. British Comedy - specifically Only Fools and Horses. Without a doubt the best show ever recorded.

What I would be doing if I wasn't in games: Radio - I'd love to be a sort of mild shock jock.
